The Residential Tenancies Tribunal is an independent judicial body and was created to resolve disputes that arise from time to time between Property Owners and tenants where those disputes cannot be solved at a personal level.

The Tribunal has the power to make a decision (called an 'Order of the Tribunal') regarding an application made to it concerning a dispute, that is legally binding and that decision must be observed by the party or parties to whom it applies.
